It's hard to believe that with the end of the Degree Show, my time as a BA (Hons) Fine Art Student at HCA and previously at University College, Falmouth has also come to an end. It's been a long, roller coaster of a journey, emotionally and artistically, but so worthwhile.

Our week of the show culminated yesterday in the fundraising Auction for Free Range. It went well; not as many people as I'd imagined especially given the pulling power of the print that Yinko Shonibare had so generously donated to our cause (well done, Viv), but all bar one entry sold and most for OK prices. Certainly it will have made a considerable and very welcome contribution to our bank account...

The show itself was great - I was proud to be a part of it and to share the fulfilment of our studies with such a lovely and talented group. We've been through a lot together, supported each other through the highs and lows, and I hope we'll all stay in touch.

So, next is Free Range where we take our Degree Show to London to participate in what is the largest art graduate exhibition held annually in the UK. That will take place between the 4th and 10th July. It will be a different show to HCA as with only one day in which to set up our spaces, many of us won't be willing or able to recreate the same shows we just put on, especially those who, like me, were exhibiting in installations we'd created to work with the paintings. From my perspective, there's no way I could begin to replicate 4 full days of solid wallpapering in less than half! Some thought required into an alternative but hopefully equally-successful-in-a-different way approach.
